After a very kind blog post from Inspiring Women Online yesterday, I was invited to write an article for them. There’s loads of women doing brilliant stuff, but I thought Neelie Kroes was worth a shout as I hadn’t heard of her til lately, and its a very small positive step from me to counterbalance all the right wing bile we get daily about the EU (not that it’s above criticism in any shape or form, especially due to the current shenanigans in Greece).
Spent my lunchtime doing that so didn’t have much chance to scope much more out, except for this article from Kevin Powell for the Guardian’s Comment is Free. The crux is right, but is it too reverential towards women? Not sure that I like the idea that women would have implicitly governed better due to their sex, or that they are better leaders due to their gender. Good call on men needing to be more aware of how women are being oppressed though, and that is purely on the grounds of their gender.
