International Women’s Day

Mad day, Twitter is a brilliant thing, but on a day like today information seems to find you even when you’re not looking for it! The crazy thing over the last few days is that I haven’t had to look for articles of inequality, which is scary. But the good thing is there’s loads of people that care enough to report it. Same thing with today – sad that it’s necessary to have such a day, but good work by loads of people.

Kind of encapsulated by this brill pic that was made available by Molly Crabapple and Laurie Penny.

The Guardian have been pretty rock and roll with their coverage, with a dedicated section of their site, as well as comment from their columnist Polly Toynbee and the Fawcett Society’s Anna Bird.

There’s loads of into on the internet today though, as there should be, so you can find loads more. Thought I’d finish with this though – an article from the Huffington Post on how feminism benefits men. Anybody who’s new to this blog may wonder why I’d bother blogging as a guy. Although this article doesn’t answer from my perspective it’s not a bad place to start. I just can’t help thinking that we’d all be a lot better off if everyone had the same opportunities in life.
